St. Mary provides a variety of educational resources with the goal of helping the faithful to continuously feed and grow their faith. We cannot love what we do not know.

Pastoral Council Corner

Our Pastoral Council has been reading from the Documents of the Second Vatican Council and has chosen to share excerpts from Chapter IV of Lumen Gentium. Chapter IV is about the laity, those of us who are not called to the priesthood or religious life. Here are three specific points that our Parish Council has chosen for all of us to pray about:

  • We, the laity, share in the mission of the Church to save all souls by directing our daily affairs according to God’s will.
  • The laity acts like leaven, making the world holy from within, by fulfilling our regular duties with love.
  • Christ gives us his spirit and pushes us forward to continual conversion and apostolate with those around us every day.

This is a beautiful chapter and can be downloaded for free from the Vatican website. We also have copies of the Vatican II documents in the Parish Library.

Parish Library

The Parish Library is OPEN virtually. Whether you are looking for something fictional, biographical, devotional, or theological, the library has a lot to offer. The library is located inside St Joseph’s room next to the Adoration Chapel.  Parishioners already registered with the Library can browse books and place requests for books through the Library catalog app.  Book requests can also be made by calling the Parish Office.

Bible Online

The New American Bible is the English translation that we use in the Lectionary. The website for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has an online version. In addition, if you are interested in looking the Mass readings for the day you can go to the USCCB website and click on the day in the calendar, and it will bring up the readings for that day.

Catholic Catechism Online

The Catechism of the Catholic Church is an official, authoritative, and authentic reference text for teaching and transmitting Catholic doctrine. It is meant to be an organized presentation of the essential teachings of the Catholic Church in regards to both faith and morals. It is meant to be reference tool to help one grow more in their understanding of the faith. A new version of the Catechism was promulgated in 1992.
